Ayush Kakkar

Founder · Data Science & AI at Masters' Union

I build AI systems that take work off people's hands: agentic automation for businesses that still run on manual effort. Two ventures so far, and a habit of shipping since I was twelve.

01 / About

A bit about me

I'm a founder and a first-year Data Science & AI student at Masters' Union. Most of my time goes to Smildly AI, where we build custom automation (CRMs, AI receptionists, workflow agents) for businesses drowning in manual admin. I also co-founded Workfloor AI, which does the same for SMEs globally, and I'm building the direct-to-consumer product at AceCard.

I started coding in grade 4, trying to work out what was happening behind the screen. That curiosity turned into a habit: a book published at twelve, apps on the Play Store through school, a generative chatbot built on IBM Watson because I wanted to know how conversational systems actually worked. The through-line is that I'd rather make the thing than read about it.

Right now I'm most interested in agentic AI, systems that don't just answer but act, and in economic systems anchored to physical constraints rather than abstraction, which is what Joule is about. Away from all of it I've played chess for six years, mostly for the way an opening decides a game forty moves later, and I compete in artistic yoga. I also teach with FreePathshala, where the students are children of labour workers.

Things I've built

Workfloor AI

2026 – Present

Co-founded. An AI automation agency working with SMEs globally. We start with a free workflow audit, then design and deploy custom agents for data entry, invoicing, inventory, and client communication, wired into the tools clients already use, from spreadsheets to WhatsApp. Audit, pilot, measure, scale.

Smildly AI

March 2026 – Present

Founded. We build bespoke automation for growing businesses: custom CRM and ERP systems, an AI receptionist that handles calls and qualifies leads around the clock, websites with integrated booking and SEO, and workflow agents that remove manual admin entirely. Not templates. Every implementation is built around how the client actually operates.

Joule

Concept

The company I want to build. Always-on appliances like fridges and air conditioners burn power continuously and return nothing to their owner, while digital currencies float free of physical reality. Joule embeds a low-power verification layer into consumer electronics so value accrues in proportion to verified device runtime, anchored to physics (time, energy flow, thermal stability) rather than abstract computation. That makes issuance non-speculative, hard to fake, and naturally distributed. It leans on operation that already happens rather than rewarding waste, and reclaiming device heat to run the verification layer itself points toward near-zero added overhead. Just as Brave built a market around attention without increasing screen time, Joule builds one around device operation without increasing energy use. I cold-emailed Narayana Murthy, Ankur Warikoo, and Deepak Padaki to pressure-test it; their feedback pushed me toward an MVP I could measure unit economics on rather than a whitepaper.

Growithevent

2026

Built solo, and in use every day. An event registration and check-in tool for organizers who want people through the door without the overhead. Set a cap, a price, and a date, then share one public link; attendees register, pay, and get a unique QR ticket. At the door a phone camera scans it, marks them present, and won't let the same ticket through twice. Mobile-first and deliberately narrow: register, pay, scan, nothing else.

Bandhu

2021

An app for tracking mental well-being: surfacing red flags early and routing people toward the right support. Selected for mentoring, where I was coached on structured thinking and turning a concept into something people could actually use.

The Cradle House

2020

A mystery novel, co-written with Siddhant Sharma and published when I was twelve. Set in the village of Little Dorset, where teenagers keep vanishing and the crystal ball in the local magic store is the last thing any of them touched. It's the earliest thing I finished, and the reason I know I can sit with something long past the point where it stops being fun. Available through the publisher and on Google Books.

Kity Mania

2020

Built during COVID as a digital stand-in for in-person kitty parties: in-app transaction tracking, points earned per transaction, shared payments split between members, and group games for the social half. I led design and development end to end, working on system logic and edge cases rather than screens. Published to the Play Store.

Generative AI Chatbot

2022

A conversational agent built on IBM Watson Conversation, focused on intelligent response systems. My first real look at how conversational AI is put together under the hood.

03 / Experience

Where I've worked

  1. 2026 – Present

    Co-Founder · Workfloor AI

    Global

    • Co-founded an AI automation agency for SMEs, delivering results in a 2–6 week cycle with no long-term contracts.
    • Built the audit-to-deployment process: identify the bottleneck, pilot an agent against it, measure, then scale.
    • Integrate agents with the tools clients already live in (spreadsheets, WhatsApp, existing software), plus live dashboards for what the automation is doing.
  2. March 2026 – Present

    Founder · Smildly AI

    India

    • Founded and run an AI automation firm serving law, professional services, and technology clients.
    • Ship custom CRM/ERP platforms, AI receptionists, and workflow agents, each built to a specific client's operations rather than from a template.
    • Own the work end to end: scoping with clients, designing the system, building it, and keeping it running.
  3. July 2026 – Present

    Software Developer · AceCard

    • Building AceCard's direct-to-consumer experience: the storefront customers actually browse and buy through, rather than an internal tool a handful of people see.
    • Building the backend it runs on, from data models and APIs to the integrations the purchase flow depends on, so the front end and the services it calls are designed together instead of bolted on afterwards.
